Mr. Nelson Petrosyan holds Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts and degree in economics and business administration.
Mr. Petrosyan joined Grant Thornton in 1999 and is now the Director/Partner of Grant Thornton Georgia. He possesses strong background and wide-range experience in accounting, auditing, management consulting, financial management and control, and profound knowledge and experience in non-profit and project management.
Mr. Petrosyan’s professional experience includes industries such as chemical production, transportation, forestry, software development, food and beverages, retail, media and broadcasting, as well non-profit organizations and foundations engaged in development and humanitarian activities. Mr. Petrosyan leads audits of donor-funded projects financed by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations, KfW, EBRD, Millennium Challenge Corporation, USAID and other International Financial Institutions.
Mr. Petrosyan possesses strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), US GAAP, U.S. Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (US GAGAS), INTOSAI standards, Circulars of the United States President's Office of Management and Budget (OMB Circulars), Audit Guidelines of the USAID and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
